Several generations of Mymble’s are introduced in the Moomin books. Mymbles, Little My and Snufkin are all part of the Mymble family.
The mother of Mymble (younger), Little My and Snufkin is called Mymble (older), she is introduced in the book Moominpappa’s Memoirs. She is roundish and very happy, and she also has 34 other children than the above-mentioned.

Mymble (younger) / Mymble’s daughter is Little My’s big sister. Mymble’s first appearance is in the book Moominpappa’s Memoirs, where she has to help her mother keep an eye on her little sisters and brothers. In the book Moominsummer Madness as well as in the picture book The Book About Moomin, Mymble and Little My she is responsible only for Little My.

Little My is Mymble’s little sister who was born on Midsummer night, and first appeared in the book Moominpappa’s Memoirs. Little My’s father is unknown. Little My is one of the main characters in the Moomin stories and she is adopted by the Moomin family in the comic Moomin builds a house.

Mymble (older) is also Snufkin‘s mother. Snufkin’s father is Moominpappa’s close friend Joxter who appears also in Moominpappa’s Memoirs. Snufkin resembles his father with his skinny physique, his hat, his pipe, as well as with his thoughtful and peaceful approach to life. Snufkin is Little My’s younger half brother – Little My is older than Moomintroll, Sniff and Snufkin, whose parents only meet each other when Little My is already born. Snufkin appears in all Moomin books, except the first book, The Moomins and the Great Flood.

The oldest Mymble is Little My’s grandmother who is described as a fatigued and very tall woman in the book Tales from Moominvalley in a story a Tale of Horror.
Aunt of Mymble (older) appears in the story Cedrik in the book Tales from Moominvalley. Snufkin tells a story for Sniff about his mother’s aunt who gave away all her belongings. Snufkin got his mouthorgan from his great-aunt.
