Peace for all – Moomin as part of UNIQLO charity collection

UNIQLO releases five new t-shirts as part of its ongoing global PEACE FOR ALL charity project. This year, Moomin has joined the important cause: the new collection - available from 15 March - includes a pink T-shirt featuring Moomintroll painting the word ‘peace’.

Moominvalley is a valley of peace. Together with the welcoming and tolerant values of the Moomin family, the Moomin stories create a utopian world where everyone is valued for their unique qualities. Despite, or maybe even because of, the differences, everyone coexists peacefully.

Aligned with this core message, Moomin has joined UNIQLO’s PEACE FOR ALL project initially launched in June 2022. Donations from the project are used to support various causes, including emergency humanitarian assistance for displaced people around the world, supporting children impacted by conflict and helping prevent child marriage.

The charity organisations part of the project include The UN Refugee Agency, Save the Children, and Plan International.

“We are honoured to be part of the PEACE FOR ALL initiative. At the heart of Moomin lies a commitment to tolerance, kindness and peace – values that resonate deeply with the project. Together we can all spread the message of peace with pride and purpose”, says Roleff Kråkström, the Managing Director of Moomin Characters.

Peace requires action

In the Moomin t-shirt, you can see Moomintroll actively expressing his desire for peace by painting the word across the chest of the shirt’s wearer.

In addition to Moomin, the release includes designs from the best-selling author, Takeshi Yoro, the late New York artist, Jason Polan, the calligrapher, Hakujyu Kuiseko, and the Afghan-born American novelist, Khaled Hosseini.

The new designs for UNIQLO PEACE FOR ALL t-shirts will be available around the world from 15th March 2024.
