The Moomin Festival that was to be held in August in Espoo August 20-21st is now the Espoo Family Festival. Although the festival will no longer be called a Moomin Festival, the Moomins will appear both as characters and with the Muumiperheen Lauluretki musicians. The artists Diandra, Hevisaurus and Arne Alligator will also perform.
– Initially we wanted to be a part of this as the festival was to be arranged in Oittaa, close to nature, with activities that we considered true to the values of the Moomins. Since then the core of the festival has changed and we thought it best to no longer be a part at this point. We will however see if we could work together again with the organizer some time in the future says Roleff Kråkström, managing director of Moomin Characters.
