Arabia's new Moomin mug In the Mountains will become available on Monday, August 16th. The limited-edition mug, created exclusively for the Norwegian market, is available internationally only on the Official Moomin webshops. Check out the answers for some frequently asked questions below!
When does the mug become available?
The mug sales start on the Official Moomin webshops on August 16th, at 9:00 Finnish time (check other time zones here). In case the mug sells out quickly after launch, keep an eye on the webshop. A limited number of products has already been produced, but we’ll receive the products in batches during the fall.
Update December 2nd: Due to a delay in deliveries, the last batch of In the Mountains mugs comes for sale to the Official Moomin webshops on January 17th, 10:00 EET.
If you are located in the UK or Germany, we recommend that you order from our local sites moomin.co.uk and moominshop.de.
What’s the price of the mug?
The price is 29.90 euros.
If you order from outside the EU, you might have to pay value-added tax and a customs’ fee. In Norway, we pay the tax for you directly.
Can I reserve a mug in advance?
The mugs can not be reserved in advance.
How many mugs can I buy?
On the Moomin webshops, the purchase limit for the mug is 2 per customer.
Will the mugs run out during the day?

Will the mug be reserved for me when I add it to the cart?
No, items added to the cart on shop.moomin.com are not yet reserved. The item is only reserved for you after checkout. Sometimes the products can run out while you’re finalizing the payment. In that case, the bank will direct you back to the webshop and you will see an “out of stock” message. Your bank should return the payment within a couple of days.
Where in Norway can I get the mug?
The mug is sold in Norway by Backe i Grensen, Christiania Glasmagasin, Designforevig, Intervisjon, Illums Bolighus, Jernia, Kitch’n, Tilbords and Traktøren. Please contact the stores directly if you want to check the availability of the mug.
What is the design of the mug like?
The In the Mountains mug illustrates Moomintroll who has gone into the mountains with Snufkin. Moomintroll needs advice: everyone around him has turned strange or busy, except Snufkin, who comforts Moomintroll.
Moominmamma decides to spend a day on her own in peace and quiet without worries or having to care for anyone. Moominmamma bathes in warm water and enjoys herself. The family, however, starts to miss Moominmamma in the midst of the chaos and they start looking for her. At first, Moominmamma refuses to return home because she also wants to live freely.
