Eco-friendly Moomin clothes: Moomin by HuiGee

One of the newest Moomin licensee holders, the Finnish company HuiGee, is proof of making your dreams to come true. The Moomin licensee contract was signed at the beginning of 2017 and the first products came to the market already at the end of the year.

The team from the West Coast of Finland get their inspiration from the sea as a sign of freedom and the possibilities lying behind the horizon – just like did Tove Jansson, whose Moomin illustrations are seen in HuiGee’s first collection of children and adult wear and apparel.

The dream of HuiGee’s own Moomin clothing collection was not a coincidence – the values and the charm of adventures combine these two brands.

Founder of the company, Anne-Mari Mikama said: “The Moomin stories were familiar to me already in childhood. I experienced the Moomins a bit scary then but when reading the books again, it was easy to fall in love with them. As an adult and as a Moomin fan, I always have dreamed of my own Moomin clothing collection.”

The similar values of Tove Jansson and HuiGee – the respect for nature and other people

The ecological and high-quality production methods of HuiGee’s products ensure that the clothes are comfortable and that they will look good even after several adventures and washings. All the products are designed in Finland and manufactured in Portugal at a Finnish-owned factory. All accessories are entirely handmade in Finland.

The founder Anne-Mari Mikama has always found the environmental friendliness and preserving human dignity important in the clothing business. “The conditions of the workers and the ethically transparent production chain were absolute values in finding partners when starting our business. Ecologicalness and the well-being of people now and also in the future are among the most important principles of our company HuiGee,” says Mikama.

All the HuiGee’s products are made from GOTS certificated organic cotton. All clothes have also received Oeko-Tek 100-standard’s approval. Oeko-Tex makes sure that the clothes contain no substances and chemicals that may be harmful to children or adults.

The first novelties for babies

Adorable Finn Family Moomintroll body-dress for babies in a stunning rose color, as well as bodysuit in petrol color, are now added to our webshop’s selection! A wider selection of adult clothes can be found from HuiGee’s webshop but what do you think, should we add more HuiGee’s clothes to our selection as well?
