As we all know, Moominpappa is an adventurous dreamer who likes fine old whisky and the company of dubious friends. Whisky boxes and whisky bottles, also the headaches, can often be seen in Moomin comics and Moomin books.
In 2014, to celebrate Tove Jansson‘s 100th anniversary, the Swedish Mackmyra produced 300 bottles of Moominpappa’s favourite drink – Old Smuggler Whisky. Bottles of this Moomin Old Smuggler Whisky were made from order and were never on sale.
The label and the box are designed by James Zambra, the oldest son of Tove Jansson’s niece, Sophia Jansson. James is working at the Finnish Creative Agency Bond. Bond has also created the fabulous Moomin font based on Tove Jansson’s original handwriting.
