A cooperation between Moomin Characters LTD and Anne-Claire Petit led to the creation of a crochet Moomin. The celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Tove Jansson (1914-2001) in 2014 was the occasion for Anne-Claire Petit to design a crochet version of the famous Finnish cartoon figure. Anne-Claire enjoys the challenge of reinterpreting graphics and paintings from past and present into 3D hand-crocheted objects. The Moomin by Anne-Claire Petit is the expression of the appreciation of a unique character!

The detailed work of Anne-Claire Petit Accessoires is hand-crocheted by women living in countryside villages of Northern China. The crochet and other textile techniques used are part of the cultural and craft heritage of the women working for the Dutch designer and have been passed on for many generations.
