The Singapore Writers Festival is one of Asia’s premier literary events. This year the festival is organized on 3 – 12 November with several Moomin-themed programmes.
The Moomins have delighted and inspired children and adults for decades and on Sunday 5 November, Paula Parviainen, Ambassador of the Embassy of Finland in Singapore, reads her favourite Moomin tale. Join in the fun Moomin craft activities, with the help of mummy blogger and crafter Dorothea Chow, aka Dottieshop. The event is free and suitable for the whole family.

The panel discussion “Enduring Allure of the Moomins” features the author Philip Ardagh, Tove Jansson’s niece Sophia Jansson and the managing director of Moomin Characters Ltd, Roleff Kråkström.
Ardagh is the author of the recently published book The World of Moominvalley – a guide to the characters of Moominvalley, which celebrates Tove Jansson’s unique and wonderful world. In the panel discussion Enduring Allure of the Moomins, these three Moomin experts will talk about Tove Jansson and the magical universe she created, ponder why these roundish trolls matter to millions 70 years on and discuss what it takes to keep the brand alive.
