Tove Jansson 100 years – this is how we’re celebrating

This Saturday, August 9th, exactly 100 years will have passed since the birth of the beloved author and artist Tove Jansson. The event is celebrated around the world and you can find all the events at Tove100.com.

We have however selected some highlights!

Finland: 

The Tove Jansson park opening ceremonies in Katajanokka, Helsinki at 1pm, 9.8.2014.

Tove Jansson society; Tove Jansson 100 years- leaving of traditional Sunflowers at the doorstep at Ullanlinnankatu 1 at 1 pm. After that there will be a “birthday party” at Helsinki Observatory Café Tiedekahvila.

Toves 100th birthday 9.8, performance of Toves songs and poems by Birgitta Ulfsson at Ateneum in Helsinki.

Literature seminar in Porvoo: “All things are so very uncertain, and that’s exactly what makes me feel reassured.” 8. – 10.08.2014
