Förlaget, a subsidiary of Moomin Characters Oy Ltd., established a year ago, publishes new Swedish versions of the Moomin books by Tove Jansson. The first two books, Kometen kommer (Comet in Moominland) and Trollkarlens hatt (Finn Family Moomintroll), are now available on Förlaget’s international webstore.
The new cover designs are by James Zambra, son of Tove Jansson’s niece Sophia Jansson. The designs are based on the original illustrations by Tove Jansson.
Förlaget will publish all the Moomin novels in the upcoming years starting with these first two books. The new publishing house will also publish the new Swedish language versions of Tove’s Bildhuggarens dotter (Sculptor’s Daughter) and Lyssnerskan (The Listener) later this year.
