To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Moomin songs in Chinese will be performed in Helsinki on January 27th, 2017. Chinese New Year Festival will be celebrated at Keskuskatu during 3:30 – 8:30 pm and the songs performed are from the King in Moominvalley theatre play.
The play King in Moominvalley was produced in 2015 together with the ACE Production and the China National Theatre for Children. The manuscript was based on the Kungen i Mumindalen play performed at Svenska Teatern in Finland in 2008. The play at Svenska Teatern was based on the Mumintrollet TV series Tove Jansson and her brother Lars Jansson wrote for the Swedish public service television in 1969. The series became known because sometimes Moomins were without their heads.
