Finntour / Nordic Japan annually organizes journeys from Japan to Finland, especially for Moomin fans. Nearly all the places in Finland related to Moomins or Tove Jansson are seen during the trips. Yesterday a group of Japanese people – not fans but Moomin licensees – visited the Moomin Characters’ headquarters in Helsinki as a part of their tour in Finland.
Nearly 20 licensees were thrilled about the Moomin office with all the rare Moomin products in the vitrines and the possibility to taste, for example, Finnish Moomin candies and drinks.
The representatives of the Japanese companies producing Moomin products said that Moomins are a lifestyle for Japanese people – not just characters to love. Fans are keen to know more and more about Moomins and Tove Jansson, and it challenges all the licensees to produce even better Moomin products.
