Moomin Museum’s Reading Room
Moomin stories can be experienced in the brand new Moomin Museum’s Reading Room in Tampere, Finland. The library’s collection includes Moomin books in more than 20 different languages as well as books full of information about Tove Jansson. At Moomin Museum’s Reading Room you will find Moomin books for example in Afrikaans, Dutch, Japanese, Karelian, Korean and Chinese.
The Reading Room attracts visitors to Tampere Hall’s main lobby and it may be visited at any time during the opening hours of Tampere Hall. Books can’t be borrowed, but Moomin books can be bought from the new shop.
‘Making of Moomin Museum’ exhibition open before the Moomin Museum’s opening
Tampere Art Museum Moominvalley in Finland is now closed and the world’s first Moomin Museum will open on June 17, 2017. Before the summer ‘Making of Moomin Museum’ exhibition welcomes you to explore the world of Moomins at the Winter Garden of Tampere Hall.
The exhibition creatively tells the story of building the new museum as well as the history of the Moomins and their creator Tove Jansson. ‘Making of Moomin Museum’ is open until 8th May 2017.

Moomin Museum’s Reading Room and the ‘Making of Moomin Museum’ are open on weekdays at 9am – 6pm and on weekends two hours before events at Tampere Hall and stay open while events take place. Free admission!
