Moomin.com and Hope have teamed up to make this year’s Christmas just a little bit brighter and more joyous for children from families with limited resources. Hope has collected a list of children's Moomin-themed Christmas wishes that anyone can help make come true.
Hope was founded in 2009 by two Finnish mothers who wanted to find a way to create more equal opportunities for children and families with limited resources. Also, they wanted to make it easy for anyone to help – even for just five minutes at a time.
The quest resulted in founding Hope, a non-profit organisation run by volunteers, that distributes physical gifts from companies and private people and supports the recreational activities of children and teenagers in families that have limited means or have experienced a crisis. The families are chosen in close and confidential cooperation with social welfare officers.
How can I help?
Moomin.com together with Hope wants to make this Christmas a bit brighter and more joyous for children and their families that have limited resources or have experienced a crisis. The Moomins also kept their door open for visitors and welcomed them with warmth and joy – and this is something we also want to live up to.
To make this possible, a group of children chosen by Hope have wished for certain Moomin-themed Christmas gifts that anyone can buy for them. The selected items will be gift-wrapped and delivered before Christmas Eve directly to the child that wished for it by Moomin.com and Hope. When bought before the 19th of December the gifts will find their recipient well in time for Christmas Eve.
Moomin.com will also participate by buying gifts and by donating a Christmas meal for families chosen by Hope per every gift bought from the wish list.
