On Wednesday our team took a trip to Tampere – it was the first time for all of us visiting the Moominvalley at Tampere Art Museum. We must say we all enjoyed a lot! This is absolutely a must visit location for every Moomin fan!

Tampere Art Museum Moominvalley is devoted to original works of Tove Jansson. Museum’s unique collections comprise around 2000 works and an essential part of the museum are Tove Jansson’s original illustrations. Some of them are even so delicate that they are shown in a special black room with dimmed lightning.
The collection includes also three-dimensional tableaus built by Tove’s companion Tuulikki Pietilä and a five-storey Moominhouse built by Tuulikki Pietilä, Pentti Eistola and Tove Jansson.
Moominvalley at Tampere Art Museum will close in the end of October 2016 and the collection will be moved to the new premises. Read more about the new Moomin museum and its unprecedented Moomin treasures from here.
Until the end of October 2016 the Moominvalley is located on the ground floor at the Tampere Art Museum, Puutarhakatu 34.
