With over ten years of experience Finnish company Putinki Oy has manufactured Moomin calendars, posters, notebooks and postcards. Last week we had an amazing opportunity to see how the letterpressed Moomin cards are produced at the Putinki factory in Helsinki, Finland.
Letterpressing requires a lot manual work from color selection to printing press plate positioning. Tove Jansson’s original illustrations are letterpressed one color at a time starting with the black ink. See the photos and video to get an idea of the manufacturing process!
