The Angoulême International Comics Festival is hosting a marvellous exhibition – The Magic World of the Moomins – showing the work of Tove Jansson from the 1940’s onwards, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the lovable Moomins.
Tove drew Moomin comic strips for the Evening News in the mid 1950s and they heavily contributed to the Moomins being recognised all around the world. The comic strips have later been reprinted in a number of languages and the film Moomins on the Riviera, which premieres this week, is based on one of the original strips.
The exhibition opens January 29th and continues until the summer of 2015. Read more on the Angouleme Festival site (in French).
