Greetings from the rehearsals of the Moomin Family Song Spree

Today is the day when the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra presents A Moomin Family Song Spree (Muumiperheen lauluretki) at the Helsinki Music Centre at 6 pm. In this family concert new Moomin settings by Soili Perkiö of poems by Hannele Huovi will be performed in arrangements for symphony orchestra.

In this morning we had an amazing opportunity to see the final rehearsals of the concert with hundreds of children. We must say that it was so cheery and lovely to see all the children enjoying the music and visualization.

The concert is based on the children’s album Muumiperheen lauluretki which last week won the Finnish Emma Award for the Best Children’s Album of 2014.

Matti Kallio (arrangements), Hannele Huovi (lyrics) and Soili Perkiö (compositions) were happy before the rehearsals!
